According to Better Homes and Garden, , George Renninger, a candymaker at the Wunderlee Candy Company in Philadelphia, invented the revolutionary tricolor candy in the 1880s. It is made of sugar, fondant, corn syrup, vanilla flavor, and marshmallow creme.
